How You Can Help
Recycle Your Books
The Friends of Library and Archives Canada hold a Giant Used Book Sale every autumn in the Ottawa area, as well as smaller book sales at other times of the year.
If you don't have time to volunteer, donating books or musical items is another way to help the Friends succeed. We accept books in French, English and other languages.
We regret that we cannot accept any encyclopaedias, textbooks, magazines of any sort, Readers Digest or other condensed books.
All donations should be in good condition - no broken spine, torn or marked pages or musty smell. Books in such condition may be disposed of through your community's recycling program.
To recycle your books, you may deliver them Monday through Friday during normal working hours to:
Federal Records Centre (FRC)
161 Goldenrod Driveway
Tunney's Pasture, Ottawa, Ontario
The Loading Dock is located at the back of the building, accessed off Av. de l'Eglantine. You can drive your car right up to the loading
dock platform. If you ring the door bell, the Commissionaire on duty will open the big door and direct you to the drop off container inside.
If you need any assistance with donating your books, please contact us.
